~ Welcome to the Center for Applications of Data Science (CADS) and Multi-Obejective Decision, Institute of Information and Decision Sciences (IDS), National Taipei University of Business (NTUB) ~ Ching-Shih Tsou is currently a professor of the Institute of Information and Decision Sciences at National Taipei University of Business (NTUB) and the director of the Centre of Applications of Data Science at NTUB. He is also an adjunct professor of the School of Big Data Management at the Soochow University (Taipei). From 2017/Aug. to 2018/Jan., he is going to be a visiting professor at the Xian Jiaotong-Liverpool University (Dept. of Computer Science and Software Engineering, Research Institute of Big Data Analytics), and the Nanjing University of Science and Technology (School of Economics and Management). He has served as the chair of board of directors at the Chinese Academy of R Software (CARS) and the Data Science and Business Applications Association of Taiwan (DSBA). He had been a faculty at the Shih Hsin University (Dept. of Information Management) and the Chung Hua University (Dept. of Business Administration). He received his Ph.D. (1990~1994) in IE/OR from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (TAIWAN TECH) in Taipei. His research interests include Multiobjective Optimization, Evolutionary Computation, Data Mining, Machine Learning, and Game-theoretic Modelling. Prof. Tsou recently concentrates on the data analysis applied to practical problems. He has served as a data analysis consultant for the National Palace Museum, Institute for Information Industry (III), Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Central Weather Bureau (Ministry of Transportation and Communications, MOTC), Institute of Transportation (MOTC), Sinotech Consultants, Chunghwa Telecom, SinoPac Bank, Central Police University (Dept. of Forensic Science), Deloitte, Shin Kong Life Insurance, Taipei Computer Association (TCA), Taiwan Academy of Banking and Finance (TABF), Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics (DGBAS, Executive Yuan), Fiscal Information Agency (MOF), and many universities in Taiwan. Prof. Tsou is one of the pioneers of doing data science by open source tools (R, Python) in Taiwan.
